What is Hope?

Usually, I don’t write for non I.T stuff, mainly because I don’t think that I am a subject matter expert to something else. Still, I recently read a book with concise texts about the many different characteristics that a man can have and why they can be good, bad, or something in between.

I haven’t read the whole book, but the text that made me think more was one about ‘hope.’

Based on the writer, hope is the driving force that makes us forget the bad things that we live or lived so far and hope for a better future, but also hope has an evil side, constantly hopping for something better we do not enjoy the everyday things that make us happy. Life passes without actually living; we row towards death with our time-limited.

The book title is “Gnomes (opinions)” By Theodosis Pellegrinis; very easy to read and makes you think a deeper meaning to everyday words that we use so often, but we don’t think so much.

Fun fact: At least in Greece taxi drivers tend to consider themselves as “jack of all trades” and “life experts”, so if you are in a taxi and you read this book don’t give the driver too many details, probably he will start saying “no need to read books, ask me, I have met a lot of people and know everything about life” if you are Greek you probably have been to a familiar situation with a taxi driver.

I hope you find this article enjoyable.
